Steel Drum (tenor pan)

This is a "low C tenor pan" supplied by Gill's Steelpan Shop in Trinidad. The stand, also supplied by them, is USA-made. Both can be supplied with carrying bags. The instrument uses the "cycle of fifths" tuning layout, as shown below

(The harpsichord lid motto "their sound is gone out into all lands" could well apply to steel drums!)

The pan as seen from above.

The tuning layout of the pan. The lowest note is C at the bottom. The unlabelled ring of notes are an octave higher than their adjacent notes on the outer edge. The central notes are two octaves higher.
