Lucy Phillips
Lucy Phillips is originally from Boston, Lincolnshire. In 2003 she completed a degree in music at the University of York, where she studied violin with Jonathan Sparey and Simon Jones, and went on to do an MA in performance at the University of Limerick with Romanian violinist Mariana Sirbu.
Since then she has become a founder member of the chamber group York Barbican Players, with whom she had a successful concert series in York during 2007 and 2008. The group has also given recitals in venues in Gateshead, Worksop and Doncaster.
Lucy currently lives in Sheffield where she is developing her work as a freelance performer and teacher. She performs regularly as a member of the trio Simply Strings and in Sheffield Chamber Orchestra and South Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra.
